Tuesday, I needed to attend a function out of the office. For the last two weeks or so, since I found my protein rhythm, I have been in the same place doing the same thing.
Naturally, I hadn’t thought this all the way through. It occurred to me and jarred me a bit when I realized I was going to be out of my routine and that was sure to derail the day (food wise…).
I got up this morning and set to my normal routine (after I have awakened and snuggled with my hard-sleeping children). Poured the milk, gathered a protein bar and my lunch pack. I knew I’d have time this morning for a shake (and the good flavor is at the office anyway). I found a container for the protein for the second shake.
Then I found a cooler (the function is 1.5 hours away at the Capitol building in Austin). Loaded the milk, the bar, the lunch pack and the protein – and some waters.
Lunch is included today…it’s BBQ so it shouldn’t be an issue, but I’m prepared. If lunch works, my lunch pack will become my dinner pack and if all goes according to plan…I’ll meet my protein goals while I’m out of the office the same I would have if I was in the office.
Planning is key – I’ve read it about 8000 times since surgery. They are right…
